For me, capturing someone's essence is about patience—waiting for those quiet, unscripted moments where my subjects are truly themselves.
A camera can be intimidating to all of us, so I prefer to photograph my subjects in places they're familiar with and emotionally attached to, whether it be at univeristy, the office, grandma's garden, or the park three blocks from home.
